With educational sessions, keynotes, networking events and the exhibit hall, AFP 2022 is a big conference with a lot to do. Here are our tips to help you make the most of it.
1. Identify key events
There are some incredible keynote speakers, specialized Hubs (e.g., Payments, FP&A), and networking events scheduled. Check the Event Schedule in the AFP 2022 App to familiarize yourself with all that’s being offered.
Looking for something specific? You can search by keyword or filter by session track. Once you know what sessions you want to attend, add them to your schedule to help you keep track of your day.
It’s important to note that adding sessions to your schedule does not register you for the sessions, nor does it guarantee you admission. Seating for most events is first come, first served, so be sure to get there early.
2. Know what to pack
We’ll provide you with a tote bag for anything you pick up throughout the day and a reusable water bottle to help you stay hydrated.
Be sure to bring your ID, business cards for networking, and something to take notes with. You’ll have full days of walking, so wear comfortable shoes!
3. Expand your professional network
There will be close to 5,000 treasury and finance professionals attending AFP 2022. Use the opportunity to get to know other attendees!
If you feel a little awkward starting a conversation with someone new, consider attending a topical roundtable where you’ll automatically have something to discuss. Or head to the Kick-off Party at the Franklin Institute where you can uncover the mystery of your subconscious through the Brain Exhibit, discover the anatomy of the human heart by walking through one, and connect with your treasury and finance peers for cocktails and conversation.
4. Plan breaks into your day
Take some time between sessions and events to stretch your legs, so you can go into your next session refreshed. Be sure to include a trip to the Exhibit Hall in your schedule. In addition to over 200 vendors ready to share solutions to your challenges, there’s a puppy park, golf simulator, and an arcade where you can win daily prizes.
Need a quick bite to eat? The Exhibit Hall also has a buffet where you can grab breakfast and lunch, and a Donut & Coffee Cart.
5. Submit session evaluations to request CTP/CCM and FPAC credits
CTP/CCM and FPAC credential holders can earn up to 30.9 recertification credits at AFP 2022. CPAs have the opportunity to earn 29.2 CPE credits.
To request CTP/CCM and/or FPAC credits, after attending a qualifying session, submit session evaluations through the AFP 2022 App by 11:59 PM ET, Friday, October 28, 2022.
To request CPE credits, record the Session CPE Code at the end of qualifying sessions. In the AFP 2022 App, enter the CPE Code in the CPE Request Form. Complete the Session Evaluation and CPE Request Form by 11:59 PM ET, Friday, October 28, 2022.
Bonus Tip: Need help onsite? Look for the blue AFP shirt.
We know there's a lot of information to take in, so if you need help during the conference, look for an AFP staff member wearing a blue shirt, or stop by an AFP Info Kiosk.
